  • Captain Bill Gallagher 10 Mile Island Run Helps Families Facing Cancer  | Aug 18

For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation (FPS), a local non-profit organization that provides vacations for adult cancer patients and their loved ones, raised $5,500 through The Captain Bill Gallagher Ten Mile Island Run on Aug. 2, 2014! $5,000 is enough to help one family take a break from cancer. FPS was inspired by Peter R. Bossow, Jr., a former Sea Isle City lifeguard who lost his battle with cancer. In memory of Peter, the beach patrol encourages runners to raise money for FPS and donates 25.00 for every runner or team who raises $250 or more. Team FPS had 20 runners, including FPS and many of these runners have been fundraised online to support respite vacations for adult cancer patients.  View
